On 14 and 15 May, the distinguished mathematician and former President of the European Research Council (ERC), Professor Jean-Pierre Bourguignon gives a public lecture “Applying for ERC grants. The future of European research” in the building of the Institute of Cultural Research (Ülikooli 16–216).
In his lecture, Professor Bourguignon will discuss, from the perspective of a former ERC President, researchers’ motivation for applying for ERC grants and analyse the key factors that make a strong and convincing ERC application, the evaluation criteria, and the most common problems.
The lecture and discussion moderated by Associate Professor of Technology Research Mihkel Solvak will offer valuable insights for both early-career and advanced researchers interested in cutting-edge research, the rationale behind ERC grants, and the development of the European Research Area. All interested are welcome to attend.
On 14 May, Professor Bourguignon will meet with representatives of the Institute of Computer Science and the Institute of Mathematics and Statistics at the Delta centre.
