Be glad of life because it gives you the chance to love, to work, to play, and to look up at the stars.
- Henry Van Dyke
UT Tartu Observatory gives you the chance to spend an evening actually looking at the stars through a telescope!
The 1.5 m telescope – the biggest in the Nordic countries – is open for observations. Besides that, you can visit our stellarium to see how solar and lunar eclipses occur, how constellations appear in the sky, how seasons change on Earth, and many other things.
The event is free of charge.
PS! The observations will not take place if it is cloudy. Then only the stellarium will be open.
The event is a part of the programme of the European Space Agency's European Space Talks initiative. You can see all the events held in Estonia at the space talks website by clicking on the subdivision "Estonia".
