Tartu Observatory is an Estonian space centre whose main task is research and development. We train young scientists in astronomy, remote sensing, and space technology, and we are a recognised partner in international networks.

Tartu Observatory of the University of Tartu welcomes students interested in astronomy, environmental sciences, and space technology.
At Tartu Observatory, you can start an internship at either high school or university level. Often the internship turns into a research thesis.
Our researchers are available to supervise student theses at all levels of academic study. We also have a doctoral programme.
All University of Tartu students are welcome to join us and focus on mental health together! We here at the Student Union want to contribute to students' mental well-being.

The opening ceremony of the 2024/2025 academic year of the University of Tartu takes place on Monday, 2 September at 10:00 in front of the university's main building.
On 16 May, the Estonian Doctoral School Career Conference will be held in Tallinn to discuss the value of doctoral studies and the career prospects of doctoral students. All Estonian doctoral students and those interested in doctoral studies are welcome to attend.
From 8 May to 20 October, all UT employees, students, alumni and all others interested are welcome to complete the orienteering course and reconnect with the history of the UT dormitories.

The competition for the scholarship established by the rectors of the University of Tartu, University of Latvia and Vilnius University has started again to promote the teaching and learning of the Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian languages and cultures.
