Recognition of the Star of the Milky Way can be obtained by a person or an institution only once.
The recognition is decided by the Estonian Steering Committee of ESERO.
The Star of the Milky Way recognition is accompanied by a scholarship and glass souvenir.

Tartu Observatory announces the recipient of the recognition and presents it at the Science Communication Conference, organised by the Estonian Research Council, on 15 November 2024, in Tartu.
