The Association of Estonian Adult Educators Andras gave the Tartu county education deed award of the year to the UT Tartu Observatory and the European Space Education Resource Office (ESERO) Estonia’s continuing education course for teachers “United by Space”. The best adult educators of Tartu county 2023 were awarded at the appreciation event for the educators of the city and county of Tartu in the University of Tartu assembly hall on 28 September.

All university members are invited to nominate candidates who deserve to be awarded the university’s honorary decoration for their outstanding achievements.

Based on the proposals submitted by students, the committee formed by the UT Student Union has chosen the recipients of the teaching staff of the year awards for 2022.

Rector of the University of Tartu Toomas Asser announced the university's contribution to society award, research award and language award and recipients of the teaching staff  of the year award.

The scholarship holders have showed great results and good academic performance during their studies.

Today, 9 December, the Estonian Engineers Union (EEU) announced Viljo Allik, chief engineer of Tartu Observatory of the University of Tartu, as Engineer of the Year.

The expatriate Estonian visiting professorship will be held by Annela Anger-Kraavi and Mart Kuldkepp.

On 1 December, the University of Tartu celebrates the 103rd anniversary of establishing the Estonian-language university.
