As part of Researchers' Night, the University of Tartu's Tartu Observatory is organizing several events and also participating in the AHHAA Science Center event. On Wednesday, we welcome the audience in Barlova to listen to Associate Professor of Behavioral Genetics at the University of Tartu, Uku Vainik, and on Friday, we invite everyone to a free excursion to Tõravere!

Uku Vainik will talk about the reasons why we tend to indulge in good food. We will also discuss whether sugar addiction exists and whether a sugar tax would make sense. Musical interludes during the science evening will be provided by Tartu Observatory's band. Barlova Science Nights take place once in a month.

Two Free Tours in Tõravere 18:30 and 19:30
Our guide Mari Tellissaar welcomes guests at the Big Telescope Tower (Torni 6). You can join the tour at two different times:

At the end of each tour, you will meet researcher Taavi Tuvikene, who will talk about galaxies. You can also have a chat with engineer Reimo Soosaar, who will discuss the role of technology in science and collaboration with scientists, focusing on the Tartu Observatory's Moon and satellite missions.
The starting point for the tour is at the Big Telescope Tower (Torni 6), which is a 5-minute walk to the left taken from the main building.
